Akira Toda is a strategy consultant, coach, facilitator, and business lecturer. He helps individuals and organizations create simple strategies, put them into action, and achieve real results.
Born in Japan, he studied at Sophia University in Tokyo before earning his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. There, he learned business and teamwork alongside talented classmates from around the world—an experience that opened his mind to many new ways of thinking.
Akira began his career at Itochu Corporation, one of Japan’s leading trading companies, and later joined the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he learned from some of the brightest minds in the field of strategic consulting. He has also taught strategy, logical thinking, and design thinking at the Graduate School of Globis University in Japan—an experience he describes as deeply rewarding.
In the early stages of his career, Akira was known as “the logic guy.” Over time, however, he came to understand that people don’t change simply because the logic is right. He realized that analysis and logic are only part of the equation; what truly drives success is not only what one should do, but also what one wants to do. This insight forms the core foundation of his current work.
